Winter Olympics Knitting

FO: EZ hybrid sweater

Yesterday I didn’t think I was going to knit the Winter Olympics this time around – the last few months have been full of deadlines and I don’t really fancy another one.

However W’s jumper (above) is looking very loved, and very tatty and I’ve been promising him that I’ll knit him a new one for the last two years.

Last time it took me 9 days. Mind you about two days of that was while marathon watching Black Books (which seems like a good excuse to hunt them out again, now I come to think of it!), and this was before FB was a twinkle in my eye. This time around I think it’s going to take a bit longer.

And have stripes.

38

Firstly – Yay I’m back!  The site is still not totally finished (though it is getting that way) so that the job for this week.  But I promised to be back on the 8th and here I am!

While I was away W celebrated his 38th birthday.

Happy 38th

I love him alot and the (very nearly) ten years we’ve known each other have been amazing.

(The cake is Nigel Slater’s Apricot Cake – the mixture split and baked in two tins – crisp as the edges and soft in the middle. The ‘icing’ is just good greek yogurt with nothing added to it. It totally balances the sweet cake. A family favourite.)

Hiatus Update

Witch Hazel - Dec 09

I’m hoping to be back blogging again next monday – 8th February – which, even for a month of only 28 days, is still early February really.

In the meantime, here is a picture of my one of my favourite winter things – flowering witch hazel. I recommend finding some and having a good sniff – they smell wonderful. (Tip – If it’s really cold you need to blow on them first.)
